Anti-Bullying Policy
Rationale:
The school community at Lake Macquarie High School is committed to providing
a safe and caring environment in which all students can achieve success,
socially as well as academically. Lake Macquarie High School actively promotes
zero tolerance of bullying, harassment and intimidation.
Students, teachers, parents and members of the wider community have a
shared responsibility to create a safe and happy environment free from all
forms of bullying. Each group within the school community has a specific
role in preventing and dealing with bullying.
Aim:
- To increase the number of students who report bullying either as a victim
or as an observer in the playground.
- To develop an ethos of respect and concern for the victim as well as
to teach victims how to take control and respond differently.
- To reduce the number of students being bullied within the school
Implementation:
We will not allow cases of bullying to go unreported at Lake Macquarie
High School.
Anti-bullying climate is supported by
- Provision of opportunities to cater for each child's skills, talents,
abilities and interests
